Course Description
This combination renewal course will renew a clinician’s ACLS, PALS, & BLS for Healthcare Provider certifications. The course is done in one day with attendees taking the ACLS update, PALS update, and BLS update. This is in accordance with the AHA policy for testing out of BLS during an ACLS or PALS course.
Audience
For healthcare professionals needing to update their BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. Students must hold certification in all three disciplines in order to attend this course.
Course Content
ACLS: The ACLS course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage cardiac arrest, stable and unstable cardiac rhythms, acute coronary syndrome, airway management and stroke of an adult. This course is designed for emergency department staff, intensive care units, or critical care departments, physicians, nurses, emergency techs, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency.
PALS: The goal of the PALS course is to aid the pediatric healthcare provider in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to pediatric healthcare providers in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children, resulting in improved outcomes. Skills taught include recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest; the systematic approach to pediatric assessment, effective respiratory management; defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion; intraosseous access and fluid bolus administration; and effective resuscitation team dynamics.therapists, and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency.
BLS: This course teaches Adult, Child, and Infant CPR and AED use as encountered in a healthcare setting. As well as use of the use of the AED. Upon completion of this course student will be able to provide emergent care for adult child and infant victims with and without advanced airways, and foreign airway obstructions. As well as recognize signs and symptoms for heart attack, stroke. And other cardiovascular problems common to health care providers.
* There is a total of 11 hours of pre-course work that needs to be done before coming to class. (we will email you the links once we confirm registration). There is no pre-course work for the BLS. For both ACLS and PALS you will need to take a one hour pre-test and print (or take a picture) of the completion certificate. Then you will need to watch four hours of classroom videos and print (or take a picture) of the completion certificate and email them to courses@emergencytc.com. Please submit your certificates one day prior to your class, so that class time is not taken up trying to collect certificate from students.

* This all in one day is for Renewal classes only. They can not be used for initial certifications. Student must bring proof of current BLS/ACLS/PALS certification cards (must not be expired)
